Wishes and Wisdom for the Newlyweds!

The delicious wedding cake stood tall for all to see.

The breathtaking wooden beams and detailed stained-glass work of the St. Peter’s Episcopal Church served as a gorgeous backdrop to a perfect wedding in downtown Rome. Upon leaving the elegant church, guests took a short trip through Broad Street, past the historic Myrtle Hill Cemetery, to the Coosa Country Club where they were greeted by friends and family.

Before heading into the Alhambra Ballroom, guests stopped by a table decorated with pictures of the newlywed’s parents and grandparents on their own wedding days. While viewing the photos, guests also filled a silver bowl with personal jokes, wishes, and wisdom for the couple to look back on and enjoy!

The ballroom’s centerpiece, an elegant five tiered cake from Honeymoon Bakery layered with white roses and hydrangea from Bussey’s, sat beneath the dazzling chandeliers, capturing everyone’s attention.

Dinner was served and everyone filled their plates with delectable stuffed mushrooms, chicken fingers, and even mashed potatoes served in martini glasses! As everyone finished eating, the bride and groom were introduced and led into their first dance to “Your Song” on the polished wooden dance floor in front of the entertaining Ready or Not band on stage.

Mashed potatoes served in martini glasses was the perfect addition to dinner!

As the first dances concluded, the best man, a member of the United States Marine Corps, gave a heartfelt toast to the couple which was met with tears and laughter from all around. Dancing continued throughout the night and included a slow song dedicated to the groom’s grandparents who started the dance, a fun and special way to include the grandparents!

After a great night of touching stories, joyful celebration, savory food and lively dancing, the newlyweds said their goodbyes and were sent off in a limo towards their honeymoon!
