Guests took a short trip from the Darlington Schools to the Coosa Country Club just across town. They were greeted by cheerful servers with pimento cheese puffs and smoke chicken stuffed mushrooms for appetizers as they walked past the plentiful flower arrangements made by Bussey’s which included white roses, lilies and hydrangea.
Dinner was served and everyone enjoyed a broad array of southern choices including fried okra, black eyed pea salad, sweet potato biscuits, and even grits served in martini glasses topped with shrimp or bacon! To wash down the enticing meal, drinks were served for guests not only inside but also outside on the patio where guests could enjoy the warm weather. Along with their drinks, guests could pick up a fun wedding favor koozie with the couple’s initials and wedding date on the front and “To have and to hold and to keep your drink cold” printed on the back to remember the special day!
The wedding party joyfully arrived to the reception and the newlyweds embraced for their first dance to “Wonderful Tonight” followed by the Father-Daughter dance to “What a Wonderful World” and the Mother-Son dance to “I Cross My Heart” all played by The Atlanta Pleasure Band.
The groom, a golf lover, chose a cake decorated to resemble a golf ball on a tee which sat next to the stunning four-tiered wedding cake, both made by Honeymoon Bakery, surrounded by family photos of their loved ones cutting their own wedding cakes (a sweet memento for special tradition!).
With the bouquet and garter tossed and the sun set on another beautiful wedding day, guests lined the road with sparklers as the happy couple made their way to the convertible and off to their honeymoon.
