The Boston – Watters wedding was my 11th wedding working on staff at The Season Events… but boy was it a new experience! With the huge 7,000 square foot tents, the beautiful chandeliers and all the remarkable flowers it was the most elaborate wedding I’ve worked thus far! Walking around in the tent made you feel as if you were walking through a scene from one of the fairy tales of your childhood.
The formal, yet pastoral feel of all the accents made sure to keep the event close to home for this Georgia bride. Wood, copper, and natural accents balanced against the ivory damask fabrics and gorgeous draping in the tent. The ceremony and reception were held at the bride’s alma mater, Darlington School. An outdoor wedding in Georgia’s July heat wouldn’t be complete without adding some a/c, which is exactly what Unlimited Party & Event Rentals provided.
The food was catered by the dining services department of Darlington School alongside our catering partner Ray Harris who put some finishing touches on the buffet stations. The bride selected lots of southern touches on the menu, such as grilled and fried quail, cheese grits, fried green tomatoes, and a gorgeous display of roasted vegetables. The meal was completed by a delicious cake from Gabriel’s bakery and some donuts from the local donut shop!
Of course a beautiful wedding is always accompanied by a beautiful family and that is so true for what we experienced with both Brad and Mary Kate’s families. It was such a heartwarming experience to see two families come together in such perfect unity. This newly married couple had a great reception dancing to the great tunes from the Michel Jons band and enjoying a surprise visit from the Chick-fil-a cow with chicken minis in tow! The night ended with all of their friends and family lining the pathway from the chapel with sparklers to see them get away in the bride’s grandmother’s convertible. What a perfect night!
