A Casual, Charming Southern Wedding

There’s something ‘bout a truck.

As you pulled onto the quintessentially southern Muse Farm for Hannah and Cody’s wedding, old trucks placed throughout the yard greeted you. From the vehicle gauges under the television, to the tailgate of an old pickup mounted as a bench for extra seating, bits and pieces of trucks could be found throughout the barn.

Along with the trucks, there were also tractors on display all around the property. As guests arrived, a tractor and trailer greeted folks to shuttle them down the hill to the ceremony

Hannah, though, rode down to the ceremony in her daddy’s 1987 red pickup truck.

The ceremony site was set up with both pews and chairs for guests and topped with a canopy of sheer fabric to create the illusion of a church ceiling.

After a long day of Hannah and Cody trying to sneak peeks at each other, the bride and groom came face to face at the front of the altar. The couple exchanged vows and then they tied a sailor’s knot. The idea is that like a knot grows stronger under pressure, so too will a couple in marriage.

Following the sentimental and meaningful ceremony, Hannah and Cody rode off on the back of an old blue pickup that took them up to the reception.

The reception got into full swing as the bride and groom had their first dance to Jason Mraz’s “I Won’t Give Up” played by the bride’s uncle of the Jeff Rogers Band. Throughout the barn there were people gathered in one of two places: either on the dance floor having a ball or crowded around the television watching one SEC game after another!  True southern spirit!

The night came to a sweet end with the crowd wishing the couple well and a friend whisking the bride and groom off to their honeymoon in — of course — a truck.
