It was an elegant, intimate ceremony at Barnsley Resort’s Town Hall, filled with family and friends as Nicole walked down the aisle to meet Geoffrey at the altar. The sun began to set as the couple said their vows, and gave off an amber glow as they were announced husband and wife. From here, the stage was set for the beautiful reception in the historic Manor House and Ruins.
This historic spot, commissioned in the 1840s by Godfrey Barnsley for his wife Julia, greeted guests adorned in its Christmas finest. Beautifully decorated trees and crackling fireplaces throughout the exposed brick structure surrounded guests as they enjoyed hours d’oeuvres and drinks while a stings trio played.
When the couple arrived, guests moved to the large tent set up in the back yard to eat, drink and celebrate the couple as they had their first dance to Ray Charles‘ “Come Rain or Come Shine.” Under the tent, the tables carried on the simply elegant atmosphere, set with white hydrangeas and floating candles. From there, dinner was served and coffee poured, helping the DJ keep guests dancing into the night.
We always have a great time at Barnsley, but for Nicole and Geoffrey, the event was especially memorable. The grounds and gardens aglow in Christmas lights, the elegant decorations, and the jaw-dropping grounds all fit this couple beautifully.
