Pantone’s Color of the Year – The Perfect Wedding Color

Hi friends! With a new year comes a new Color of the Year. Pantone recently announced “Greenery” as its 2017 Color of the Year. What does this mean for weddings and events? Fresh greenery will be showing up everywhere, and I couldn’t be more excited!

Pantone’s 2017 color selection is inspired by natural tones, and cultivates feelings of hope and a connection to nature. Pantone describes it as “A fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew.” What color could be more perfect for a spring or summer wedding? Greenery can also be used to add a natural freshness to a fall or winter wedding.

“With this year’s Greenery selection, I actually feel like one of those trendsetters. Several of my graphic design friends even texted me on the day of the color announcement and said, “It’s Season Events green!” We’ve had the color for our logo for nearly 10 years, and the selected shade of Greenery is extremely similar, really only five shades different.” – Holly Lynch (V3 Magazine, Jan. 2017)

How can you incorporate the Pantone color of the year into your wedding or event? Greenery goes well with an enormous amount of colors. It is the perfect natural color to add to almost any color palette. It can be added into your table décor, your bouquet, and boutonnieres. Think of how beautiful natural ivy garland would look on your head table, or on all of your tables for that matter.

Looking for a more unique way to add this beautiful color into your event? How about on your invitations, save the dates, or your accessories? There are endless opportunities to showcase this color on your big day.

In addition to releasing the color of the year, Pantone also releases their top color choices for each season of the year.

For spring and summer we will see a lot of soft color combinations including pretty pinks and greens with pops of other fun colors like shades of blue and orange. For fall and winter, expect to see greenery combined with dark blues, burgandys, and other natural shades including dark greens and golds.

As you plan your big day, you are likely to find an abundance of ways to incorporate Greenery into your wedding. Whether your wedding is indoors or outdoors, a church ceremony or something more whimiscal, it is one of the most wedding friendly colors chosen as the “Color of the Year” that we have seen in a few years.

We can’t wait to see how our brides choose to add this beautiful color into their special day! Let us know what you think about Pantone’s Color of the Year, and if you plan to incorporate it into your wedding day.
